BRITNEY SPEARS’ ex-husband spent almost four months behind bars in 2015, it has emerged.
Jason Alexander, who was married to the pop star for just 55 hours in 2004, was jailed on domestic abuse charges, according to court documents obtained by editors at Us Weekly.
He allegedly physically assaulted a woman he was dating in San Francisco in April, causing “great bodily injury.”
The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of a felony assault and served 111 days in jail. The victim also secured a restraining order against him, according to the publication.
Following his release, Alexander was ordered to complete 25 hours of community service and take domestic violence counselling classes, as well as drug and alcohol treatment programmes. He was also placed on probation for three years.
Alexander and Britney were married at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas during a wild New Year’s vacation. The union was annulled less than three days after the couple became husband and wife.
